Overview

Watch Ya' Mouth was developed for a mouthguard-selling company to take their party game to the next level. The concept is simple: the game displays phrases, a player reads them aloud while wearing a mouthguard, and the other players try to guess what they are saying. Players can experience over 2,500 custom phrases submitted by a global community or submit their own. We handled the game design and development in Unity.

2,500+ phrases
Plus community submissions
Up to 4 teams
Unlimited players each
30 or 60s rounds
Timed turns for smooth play
Custom packs
Age-rated and mixable
The challenge

Recreating the chaos of a party game on screen

Translating a physical, laugh-out-loud party game into software meant keeping the spontaneity and humour intact while adding the structure players expect from a digital experience. The game had to handle multiple teams and players, manage timed rounds cleanly, offer age-appropriate content, and tap into a huge, community-driven library of phrases, all without losing the simple, chaotic fun at its heart.

Our approach

Research first, then build

We started with the game's core moment, reading a phrase through a mouthguard while everyone guesses, and built the structure around it. That meant pack selection with age limits and the option to create or mix custom packs, team setup for up to four teams, configurable round timers, and team personalisation. With over 2,500 community-submitted phrases plus the ability to add your own, the content stays fresh. The game was built in Unity with artwork prepared in Photoshop.
